Note – I’m about to hit you all up for money.
For two years, Maura has gone to St. Michael’s House Grosvenor School, a school for children with moderate to severe disabilities.
It has been the most amazing place to be part of. The teachers, special needs assistants, and staff have all been amazing – everyone knows every child, and cares about them. The principal has been wonderful to work with, and does everything she can to help every child at that school.
You want to talk “No Child Left Behind”? This school does it right.
But, as I said before, a child like Maura is a bit expensive, and this school fills the needs of about 65 of these kids. Times are tough, even here in Ireland. And even though we’re leaving the school behind at the end of the year when we move to Seattle, they have done SO much for us, that it’s a privilege to fundraise for them, so this school can keep going.
What am I going to do? I’m going to walk the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon on the 3rd of June – that’s 10K of walking through the streets of Dublin, rain or shine. I did this last year (click here for proof) and so many of you were very generous and helped me raise almost 1000 euro for Maura’s school.
So I’m doing it again this year.
All funds will go to help Maura’s classmates in the upcoming year. As a great big thank you to the school, for all they’ve done for us in the past two years. Any amount will be much appreciated!
